The founding principal of The Chesson Company, Wes earned his BA in History from Duke University in 1971 and earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation in 1984. After an All Atlantic Coast Conference and All American football career at Duke, Wes played four years in the National Football League with the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles. For the past 34 years, he has enjoyed working as the color/analyst on the Duke Football Radio Network.

Wes has worked with multiple Forbes 400 families to design and implement wealth creation and maximization strategies through the innovative utilization of tax-advantaged life insurance plans. He has also designed executive benefit programs for private and public companies. His work has qualified him for the Million Dollar Round Table, the MDRT’s Top of the Table, and The International Forum. Wes has served on the advisory boards of several major life insurance companies.

Wes has served as a President of his church’s administrative board, President of the Wake Vocational Center, and is presently a member of the WakeMed Foundation Advisory Council. He and his wife Janet reside in Raleigh and have two children and five grandchildren.
